Dict.
Transformation according to the dictionary means “a marked change in form, nature or appearance.” In that light, I need to pray that God will make a sudden transformation in my life now.
The New Year is fast approaching, people will shout ‘happy New Year’ when in the reality everything is either the same or worse than what it was.
We who really need a HAPPY NEW YEAR need to pray that “God, give me transformational and trans-positional change. I do not want to remain as I am”, what about you?
There are cases in the Bible we need to use right now to be able to see the power of God to transform and trans-position.
JACOB
Gen 32:9 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: 10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
Hear the testimony of Jacob, he said with his rod, that means he had nothing. He came from nothing to something. Now, let us read about the gift he gave to his brother.
Gen 32:13 And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother; 14 Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams, 15 Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.
You cannot give what you do not have. By all estimations this gift is too much. A common person cannot give these as a gift. He was extremely rich, yet, he started with nothing. Can God do that in your life and mine? That is why we must pray!
We shall take another case.
JOSEPH
Gen 41:38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? 39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. 44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
In the case of Joseph, his brothers sold him into slavery, then he moved from slavery into imprisonment. The case was very pathetic. No friend, neighbour, or prayer partner to help him. The God he believed and trusted, transformed him and trans-positioned him.
Remember, Potiphar who bought Joseph from the slave market now had to bow before him. What a transformation power trans-positioned him within a day.
That God is still the God we are serving today. He is not a partial God and if He did it for Joseph, He will do it for you and I.
Our next example is
HANNAH
1Sa 1:26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. 27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
Hannah was transformed into motherhood from barrenness, that God who did it wants to do yours now, will you also pray?
Our next example is
DAVID
2 Samuel 7:1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
David was transformed from wilderness into the palace
MORDECAI
Est 6:7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour, 8 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head: 9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour. 10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.
Mordecai was transformed from the gate to the throne. Remember that the very day he was to die was the very day that God started to promote and honour him. That God is still alive and if He did it for him, He will do yours and mine.
After looking at these five cases you can see that God has the power to transform anybody at anywhere and in any way. He is the Almighty and can do practically anything and nothing can hinder him.
As you are about to pray, search your life so that there is no secret sin hiding anywhere. If there is, apologize to God and confess pleading the finished work at Calvary. God will forgive you and transform you.
Pray now!!
