MY CHURCH

 
MY CHURCH is a common slang today in the mouth of the founders and leaders of churches. Who is the owner of the Church?
The Church is called the Body of Christ Rom 12:5; 1Cor 12:27; Eph 1:23; 4:12; Col 1:24; 2:19
The Church is also called the bride of Christ
So, my brothers and sisters, if God used you to start a church, it is not your church but the church of Christ and you are His servant there to serve Him.
Let us read these passages in the New Testament;
Matthew 16:18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Acts 20:28  Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
1 Corinthians 1:2  Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
1 Corinthians 10:32  Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
1 Corinthians 11:22  What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
1 Corinthians 15:9  For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
2 Corinthians 1:1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
Galatians 1:13  For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Ephesians 5:23  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:24  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
1 Timothy 3:5  (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
1 Timothy 3:15  But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
From these passages, Jesus is the owner of every church and denominations where the name of Jesus is called.
Pastors and Christian ministers, see yourselves as the servants of the Living God and serve accordingly. If this consciousness is always there, the Church will be what God planned it to be.
The workers and leaders in churches sometimes misbehave to the pastors and leaders without knowing the consequences of their actions and what their actions may cause.
Remember that Dathan, Korah and Abiram rebelled against Moses and Aaron and terrible judgement came to them from the Lord as we can read from the book of Numbers chapter sixteen (16).
Ananias, with Sapphira tried to deceive Peter and the leadership of the church and divine judgement cane of them a s we read from Acts 5: 1- 11
If you are not happy in the church where you are please go to another church and do not bring judgement on yourself by misbehaving. If you stop working in the church because you are not happy with your pastor, remember Luke 9:62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Immediately you are born- again, you must start working for Jesus and once you have started, there is no going back.
