LORD, DESTROY THE STRATEGIES OF MY ENEMIES
Before an enemy will come to fight against you, he must have got plans and strategies he will use against you.
He will plan on the weapons, the number of soldiers and the methods of attack that he will use to be able to have total victory.
When God handles your enemies, He overrides their plans, methods and techniques.
We shall look at few cases in the Bible to understand how God does it because He has not changed.
THE SYRIAN ARMY
2Ki 6:24 And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
2Ki 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. 2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. 3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. 6 For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. 7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
Let us take their methods and techniques one at a time.
They came with great number that Israel could not challenge.
They came with terrible weapons.
They came with much food stuffs so that they could last for many days. They knew that when food finished in the city, the people would open the gates themselves and they could conquer them easily.
So, they waited outside the gates because for them they knew that however long it might be, the gates would be opened.
Suddenly in the early morning at the breaking of the day, the Lord made them to hear the sound of mighty armies and hey themselves mentioned that some powerful armies that they feared were coming to fight for Israel. So, they started running away with terrible fear and panicking. In the haste to escape, they left all their properties, food, animals and whatever could hinder or delay them.
What about their plans, strategies, methods, number of soldiers and the weapons? They could not think on any of those directions. One thing was important to them and that was their own lives.
So, God destroyed their strategies.
Today whatever number of enemies are fighting you, if you can pray this simple prayer, God, will do wonders on your behave.
JEHOSHAPHAT
2Ch 20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
2Ch 20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
Three armies came together to destroy Judah under the leadership of Jehoshaphat.
Jehoshaphat was afraid so he ran to the house of God for fasting and prayer. He also ordered the people to pray and fast.
God took control of the situation and asked them to go to the battlefield as spectators. The enemies came as three armies from different nations. They must had planned, strategized and agreed together on the methods they would use to finish Jehoshaphat and his people.
They had a great number of soldiers and they also had weapons. Judah was not a match for them in any area. God sent the invisible armies of heaven against them and the help to eliminate themselves.
The bible says that by the time Jehoshaphat got there, there was no human being alive and no one escaped.
What then happened to the many months of preparation, planning, strategizing, and mobilization, God destroyed everything.
God has not changed, the number of your enemies is not a challenge to God. The weapons, experiences, and technics of your enemies cannot be a problem for God.
Jehoshaphat believed God to the point of putting the choir in front of the army as they were going to the battlefield.
If you can totally rely and relax on God you will see wonders and all the plans, technics and strategies of your enemies shall be destroyed.
HEZEKIAH
I will encourage you to read Isaiah, chapters thirty-six, thirty-seven and thirty-eight to be able to see the pictures very well.
King Sennacherib of Assyrian empire had come against Judah. He had conquered other countries around and Judah could not even qualify to face him.
He sent his servant to go and reproof, rebuke, insult and ridicule Judah and their God.
Judah under the leadership of Hezekiah, trusted their God and depended upon Him.
In one night, God sent only one angel to the camp of the Assyrians. The angel selected one hundred and eighty-five thousand leaders among them and finished them that night. When they woke up in the morning, their leader, commanders, supervisors were all dead. The king went back home shamefully and his children killed him in the house of his god.
