Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Salvation is deliverance from sin.
The Greek word is sozo – which means, to be delivered, rescued, set free, or to save.
Let us reason together,
If somebody fell into a pool of water and one says, “thank God the man is saved”. What will come to your mind at that time? Will you want to see him in the pool of water?
If someone is in a burning house and somebody says, “thank God the man is saved”. Will you expect him to still be in the fire?
If somebody says that he is saved, the first question must be from where? If you are saved from sins, are you supposed to still live in sins?
Let us look at Paul’s practical question,
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
A sinner is dead in sins. He is inside and cannot remove himself. A Christian is dead to sin and he has nothing to do with sins any longer.
Today, what do we see?
Somebody who says that he is born again and he is still getting angry, stealing, lying, or still living in immorality.
Is this the salvation Jesus came to pay for?
1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
There is no sinning saint just as there is no truthful liar or trustworthy thief.
You are either inside or outside, there is no middle wall.
God expects clean children because His grace can make us perfectly clean.
So, if there is any sin in your live, you are not a Christian.
Now, go to the Lord in humility and confess all known sins to Him in the name of Jesus, He will save you, cleanse and give you the power to go and sin no more.
Do it now because tomorrow may be forever too late.
