THE SURPRISES OF GOD
God is The God who can always surprise anybody.
One of the special areas of God is surprise.
As we see some cases of surprises in the bible, I will like to divide it into two. The negative and the positive surprises.

1. THE NEGATIVE SURPRISES – is the sudden judgment of God
2. In The Days Of Noah
   God made Noah to build the ark. Noah warned the people of the impending doom for a very long time but the people laughed him to scorn. A day came that the rain started and they were all killed.
   Suddenly the judgment came and there was nothing they could do.
3. Sodom And Gomorrah
   Angels came to tell Lot that they would destroy the cities. Lot went to warn some people who laughed at him.
   Eventually the judgement came without any that could escape.
4. Pharaoh At The Time Of Moses
   Pharaoh was proud and arrogant, he could not recognize the Lordship of God. God released ten plaques to show him His power but because of the hardness of his heart, he pursued the Israelites into his doom. He was destroyed suddenly.
5. Miriam
   Miriam the sister of Moses was the National leader for the women but when she misused her mouth, she became a leper for seven days. It was a surprise.
6. Korah, Dathan and Abiram Num 16: 1 – 4, 12 – 14, 19, 23 – 35
   These three leaders rebelled against constituted authority and they had the judgment that nobody was expecting. God surprised them.
7. Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5: 1 – 11
   This couple lied on their gift that they were presenting to God and there came sudden judgment of God on them.
   God had not changed.
   Whatever God hated in the past,He still hates today.
   Sudden judgment is still going on all over the world but repentance is the only solution that can avert it.
   Repent of your sins, disobedience and stubbornness so that the mercy of God will come on you.
8. POSITIVE SURPRISES OF GOD – BLESSINGS
   God is the one that always surprise people and He has many ways of blessings that can actually surprise us.
   See the ways in which He surprised these people
9. Joseph – given a surprised position Genesis 41: 38 – 44
10. Hannah – given more than she requested for 1Samuel 2: 21
11. Saul – finding out about an ass and was anointed as king 1Samuel 10: 1, 2
12. Jonathan – given a surprised victory 1Samuel 14: 12 – 23
13. Widow woman – she wanted to pay her debt, the debt was not only paid but capital was given to her to start a new business 2Kings 4: 6, 7
14. Naaman – he was not only cleansed of his leprosy but was given a brand new skin 2Kings 5: 14
15. Simon Peter – surprised harvest Luke 5: 4 – 6
    This is a special area of God and He has not changed. If we give Him the chance, He will do it again.
