Christmas is a time to remember when Jesus came to visit man as the gift of God to man. So Christmas is the VISITATION OF GOD.
God’s visitation can be positive or negative. It was divine visitation that sank Pharaoh in the Red sea.
It was Divine Visitations that made worms to eat up Herod. Do not allow God to visit you for judgment.
Today we are talking about positive visitations of God.
When God visits you, it changes your life, changes your direction, and gives you purpose and solutions in life.
We shall see some examples in the Bible and use those cases to pray. Remember, if God visits you today, everybody will see a difference. As you pray, God will talk to you and give you leadings.
When the three Hebrew children were thrown into fire, Jesus visited them and the fire could do them no harm.
1. ABRAHAM
God visited Abraham on many occasions. When God visits you, your life will totally change. When you start intimate relationship with God, your youth will be renewed.
Divine visitation gives beauty
Divine visitation gives riches and possibilities.
Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
When God visited Abraham, He gave him precious promises –
As Abraham obeyed, he yielded himself.
Have you yielded to God? Now commit yourself to the Lord.
Can God direct you?
In the case of Abraham, he readily obeyed God; there was no selfishness or stubbornness in him.
You can also read these Psalms – 15, 17, 18, 21, & 22
2. MANOAH’S WIFE –
Judg 13:1 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. 2 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. 3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
This is a case of Divine visitation which can come in various ways. It can come through pronouncement, dreams, revelations and other ways.
Sometimes it can be in the meeting place that God will meet you.
Divine visitation removed reproach, shame, and so on from the woman.
Divine visitation brought great things for her. Her barrenness was rolled away.
3. MARY
Luk 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Divine visitation brought honour to Mary.
Mary was acknowledged for favour with God
Her child was to be great that means our children too shall be great.
Mary was declared blessed among women which means that she was singled out and God can also single us out as we are visited by Him.
Whatever people had been doing that they had disrespected you, today you can receive what God has for you through Divine visitation.
God visits and picks people differently and in the case of Mary, God needed her womb. It was because she was unique that God picked her. What can God see in you?
What will God see in you that can make Him to pick you up?
You need to pray that God will put His stamp on that unique thing in your life
4. PETER & JOHN
Act 5:1 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, 18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. 19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, 20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
