PRAYER IS STILL THE KEY.
Prayer is the key that opens stubborn doors. Prayer is so powerful and that is why the enemy fights ruthlessly against prayers. If you see a praying church, you will see terrible number of enemies of prayers among them just to kill their prayers but they will not know them.
Actions that kill prayers
Help for prayers
Jdg 6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. 2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. 3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; 4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. 5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it. 6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
The Israelites went into sin and forgot God. God also allowed their enemies to have mastery over them. They were terribly tormented for seven years before they cried unto the Lord and He rescued them through Gideon.
Why is it that we do not learn from our past problems?
Why must we suffer for a very long time before we realize the power of prayer?
1Sa 7:3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. 4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only. 9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. 10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. 11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.
Samuel saw the terrible situation the children of Israel were in the hands of the Philistines and he knew prayer was the key.
Samuel knew that for prayers to be effective, we must confess our sins because there must be thorough heart cleansing. We must throw all idols away and serve God with genuine sincerity.
The Israelites complied with Samuel and their enemies were conquered.
God has not changed, if we will throw all idols away, confess our sins to God and surrender totally to Him, our prayers will invite the judgement of God over the enemies.
