TYPES OF CHRISTIANS

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

A Christian is a disciple. Christ means Messiah and Christian means little Christ or little messiah.

When you see little chicken, it is a chicken. Little dog is a dog and little lion is a lion. So a little Christ is Christ. Can we say that today?

We shall look at categories of Christians.

The Deceived Christians

1. People call them Christians and they too call themselves Christians. The greatest deception is self-deception.
2. They never reached Calvary.
3. They never become new creatures
4. The old things never passed away – 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
5. They are never born-again.
6. They still live in their sins.
7. Some are pastors, Sunday school teachers, evangelists, and so on.

The Ignorant Christians – Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

1. They are genuinely born-again.
2. They are not sure if all their sins are washed away.
3. They still feel that they are sinners
4. They really do not know who a Christian is.
5. They do not know their right in Christ.
6. They do not know their position in the kingdom
7. Satan play on them, Satanic leaders and pastors prey on them.
8. They are ignorant of what the bible says.
9. They do not know why Jesus died for them.
10. They do not know the great commission.
11. They do not know the promises that establish them in Christ.
12. Their foundation is shallow.

The Christians

1. They understand the Bible on salvation before they confessed their sins to God and asked for forgiveness in the name of Christ.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

• They know they are the representatives of Christ in this world.
• They know that they can trust God with every area of their lives.
• They know that Christ is the ONLY intermediary person between man and God and not a pastor or a General Overseer.
• They know that they have the right to go to God at anytime, anywhere, and on anything.
• They feel the overwhelming love of Christ flowing over them and they crave to love Jesus more and more.
• They know they are saved to serve and they are not just to be spectators in the kingdom.
• They are so sure that their Jesus can never change or fail.
• They know that their lives must be lived for the One who died for them – Jesus.
• They know that going to church is not an option but mandatory and compulsory. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
• They know we must bear one another’s burden.
• They know that paying of tithes and offerings are not optional but mandatory and compulsory for every child of God.
• They never play with communicating with their Heavenly Father.
• They do not discourse or argue with Satan but rebuke him.
• They are very sure of their victory in Christ.
• They know that they must always get closer to Christ by all means and at all cost.
