THE CHRISTIAN AND “CHRISTIAN”

If you look at my topic very well, you will think I am repeating one thing, NO!!

They are two items

  • The Christian
  • “Christian”

The first one is the Bible Christian, –

  1. The one that started at the foot of Calvary
  2. The one that has the joy of sins being forgiven.
  3. The one that has the Spirit of the living God bearing witness with his spirit that he is a child of God.
  4. The one that demons can say “… Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” Acts 19:15
  5. The one that has the evidence of sonship surging through him.
  6. The one that loves his God above names, positions, money, education and any other things.
  7. The one that will like to do anything to please his Master.
  8. The one that knows that heaven is his home and that he is just passing through this world.
  9. The one that sees discipline and commitment to Christ and His course as the only purpose of life.
  10. The one that can do anything, go anywhere and give anything for the sake of Christ.

This one is the Christian.

Do these descriptions describe you?

If not, then you are on the other side that I want to talk about now.

“Christian” take note that I put quotation marks.

Who is this “Christian”?

  1. He goes to church
  2. He is very regular in church activities.
  3. He participates in almost every event in the church.
  4. He gives where people can see him.
  5. He prays more in the church and among other church members than on his own.
  6. He prides in his bible knowledge, he can freely quote many passages of the bible.
  7. He is close to many church leaders he is easily promoted in the church.

BUT

  1. He is not free from sin. – He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8
  2. His love for God is based on things.
  3. His commitment to God and to the work of God is for gain.
  4. His prayers are more on physical things and what he can get from
  5. He does not fully stand on the verse that says – “…It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
  6. He believes that his work of righteousness will recommend him to God.

If any of these describe you, the you have to go back to Calvary.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Let us reason together –

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

  • Are your treasures laid in this world or in heaven?
  • Is your heart on the things of this world or on HIM?
  • Do you love the creatures more than the Creator?

If you judge yourself, you shall not be judged. – For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31

LET US DO SOME POLITICS

Now in our country, the politicians are busy campaigning.

As we all know, politics is a game of numbers. Let us see some places where numbers work.

ISRAEL AGAINST BENHADAD

1 Kings 20:1 And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.

1Ki 20:10 And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me. 11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off. 12 And it came to pass, when Benhadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city. 13 And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. 14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou. 15 Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.

Apart from his own army, Benhadad got the help of about thirty-two kings with their armies. Now compare them with Israel at that time.

The difference came when a man of God intervene and told them of God’s plan. However big a political party may be, if God is against that party, their numbers will work against them.

Benhadad was so proud because of his power, weapons, number of soldiers, chariots and horses, in addition he also had the support of thirty-two kings. The king of Israel had no confidence, no chariots and the number of his soldiers were negligible. With all that, when God was involved, the story changed.

ASA AGAINST THE ETHIOPIANS

2Ch 14:8 And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour. 9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah. 10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah. 11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

2Ch 14:12 So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

2Ch 14:13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

Asa had five hundred and four thousand soldiers whereas the enemy had one million soldiers and three hundred chariots.

What was the result? Asa cried unto the Lord and God gave him victory. Fear must be thrown away and faith in the power of God must be embraced. The party that has the greatest number of members, money and campaign strategies may not win the victory if they are not the choice of God. We must cry to the Lord to intervene.

As we look at the giant parties and we think that they might not help us if they win, we need to cry to the Lord.

JEHOSHAPHAT AGAINST AMALGAMATED FORCES

2Ch 20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

2Ch 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

2Ch 20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

Three big parties join together against Jehoshaphat’s party. At the first instance, Jehoshaphat became afraid and he ran to the Lord. The Lord told him the battle was not for Jehoshaphat but for God. Jehoshaphat went to the battle ground (polling station) with singing and praises. The result was a resounding victory.

If the other parties join together and you know that they will not help our country, we should run to the Lord in prayer and our God will fight for us and we shall hold our peace.

There are many examples we can quote from the bible but let us stop here and learn some lessons.

  1. The progress of our country is our concern.
  2. We must not vote for anybody because he or she comes from our towns, villages or he is from our clan.
  3. We must not vote because of our personal gain that we think we will get.
  4. We must not vote anybody without a track record of success and progress in whatever he had been doing before.
  5. We must not allow the big political parties to intimidate us.
  6. Whatever they call vote-buying must not enter your mind because it is selling your tomorrow.
  7. Do not allow the majority to dissuade your mind, majority are not always right.
  8. Do not allow the money they are throwing around to dissuade you.
  9. Do not vote for party, vote for credible individual who can perform and deliver.
  10. Experience is very important in leading human beings.

There is the position of mobilizing everybody to vote but the greatest work is still CALLING UPON THE LORD

  • God is highly interested in our country and we should be.
  • Our tomorrow is greater than today.
  • The future of our children depend on who we will vote in to rule us.
  • Vote wisely but PRAY!

If God is leading you to a leadership role in the political scene, share with some meaningful Christians and go to the Lord in prayer.

In all situations, prayer is our biggest work, so —

PRAY! PRAY!! PRAY!!!

EMBER

SeptEMBER is the beginning of EMBER months.

Whenever we enter EMBER months, people think mostly of the various types of accidents and calamities that do occur on regular basis every year.

We also need to think on the other side of EMBER. The word remEMBER is also ending with the same letters. So, look at it from that direction.

The first thing is to pronounce upon you is that the Lord thy God shall remEMBER you.

Genesis 8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

Genesis 19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Genesis 30:22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

Exodus 6:5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

Numbers 10:9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

1 Samuel 1:19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.

Psalms 98:3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Psalms 105:42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

  • The Lord shall remember you for greatness
  • The Lord shall remember you for blessings
  • The Lord shall remember you for victory
  • The Lord shall remember you for exceeding grace
  • The Lord shall remember you for upliftment

The Lord shall make all your friends to remEMBER you for good.

Your biological and spiritual children shall remEMBER you for good, for financial support, and for blessings.

In your working place, you shall be remEMBERED for increment and promotions

The enemies of your success and life shall remEMBER the power of the blood of Jesus upon your life and run away from you.

Death by accidents and catastrophes shall remEMBER that you are covered with BLOOD of Jesus so they will not come near you.

Sickness, poverty and failure will remEMBER that the Almighty, the All-Sufficient and the Elshadai is your Farther, so they will pack their loads and run away.

So, from this month of SeptEMBER and throughout to DecEMBER, you shall be remembered.

Accept it! Claim it and pray on it and it shall be yours in Jesus mane.

THE GREATEST ATHEIST

Definition of atheist

A person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any godsMerriam-Webster

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

According to the dictionary, an atheist is somebody who does not believe in a deity. That means he does not believe there is any God anywhere.

A Muslim believes in Allah.

An idol worshiper believes his idol as god.

A Christian believes in the Almighty, Omniscience, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent God.

There is something with believe, you either believe or you do not believe. There is no middle ground.

Anybody who calls himself a Muslim cannot talk two sentences without putting something about his god in it.

That means, he believes.

In the Christian world, The Greatest Atheist are in the church. Majority of the pastors and church leaders are confirmed atheists. Remember that I am a Christian and I have been teaching and training pastors and Christian leaders for more than thirty years, so listen to me very well.

  • A Christian leader or pastor who is still committing sin, does he believe in God who sent His son to surfer that agonizing death for him?

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

  • A pastor who commits adultery or fornication and after that carry Bible to go and preach, does he believe in God?
  • A pastor who can steal the money of the church to buy car or land for himself, does he believe in God?
  • A pastor who can go for other powers because of miracles, does he believe in God?
  • A pastor who can deceive others, does he believe in God?
  • A pastor who calls lying being wise, does he believe in God?

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

  • Pastors who are fighting over member, does he believe in God?
  • Pastors who are competing with other pastors, does he believe in God?
  • The pastor who can beat and fight his wife, does he believe in God?
  • A pastor who can bear malice, does he believe in God?

As you look at these few lists and some you can easily add to them, you will agree with me that many of our Christian leaders are confirmed atheists.

The bible is very clear that Jesus can come any moment from now and that He is coming to take a chaste church to Himself. No single sin will be tolerated. He can come at any moment. If you really believe in God, can you sleep with sin when you know that the trumpet can sound before you woke up?

If you can sleep with anger, malice or any other sins and the trumpet sounds in the night, what happens?

If call yourself a Christian, check yourself with the word of God.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

By your own judgment, according to the Word of God, are you a Christian? If not, there is still change for you to repent and come to Jesus because the trumpet had not sounded, there is still Change for you at the cross even now.

Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice,

Hebrews 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God bless you as you obey the word of God so that that day will not meet you unawares.

REVIVAL! REVIVAL!! REVIVAL!!!

Psalms 85:6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Now, we need heaven sent revival for our country to be what she was created to be. To have peace, joy, prosperity and economic recovery, we need revival.

Let us remind ourselves that God is the God of order. Before there can be revival, in our country there must be revival in our churches.

Remember, there is no construction without destruction first. Today in the church, majority of those called Shepherds, Men of God, Women of God, Overseers, Bishops, and so on are lions, tigers, vipers, foxes or bears that are devouring the sheep and not tending them. Some of them are working for their stomach, some are agents of marine powers, occult, or demonic powers.

  1. A leader that can pregnates some members of the church, is this person a shepherd?
  2. A leader that can do human or any other sacrifice, is he a shepherd?
  3. A leader that can steal Gods money, is he a shepherd?

Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

You know many of them that are parading themselves as men or women of God but their actions show that they do not belong to Christ.

We must pray that God will remove all of them from their denominations and replace them with genuine children of the living God. Only then can we see revival taking place in the house of God.

Therefore, pray out all these usurpers so that the fire of revival will fall.

Revival fire must come to consume all the selfishness, love of money, love of positions earthly mindedness and other things.

We need revival today more than ever before.

  • Pray for revival
  • Pray for heaven-sent revival
  • Pray for the revival fire to kindle now.

THE OVERRULING POWER

Exodus 1:22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

  • The very time when Pharaoh ordered sons to be killed was when Moses was born.
  • The boys were to be thrown into the water and Moses was saved by the side of a water body.
  • The Pharaoh who made the law to kill all sons of the Israelites was the one that trained and educated Moses

Points to note

  • The decrees of the enemies shall not work against you but for you in Jesus’ name.
  • The enemies who say that you will not live shall sponsor you in Jesus’ name.
  • The care, concern and favour your generations had not received shall be yours in Jesus’ name.
  • Moses’ mother took care of Moses with great sponsor from the daughter of Pharaoh. You parents shall be highly rewarded over you in Jesus’ name.
  • No Israelite had ever lived in the palace but Moses. The blessing that others had not received shall be yours in Jesus’ name.

FAITH IS A POWERFUL INSTRUMENT.

Telescope is an instrument that aids in the observation of remote (very far away) objects by collecting electromagnetic radiation (such as visible light).

A Microscope – is an optical instrument used for viewing very small objects, such as mineral samples or animal or plant cells, typically magnified several hundred times.

A Faithiscope – is an optical instrument used for viewing seemly invisible objects. It also has the power to see situations and circumstances.

  1. What telescope or microscope cannot see, faithiscope will see.
  2. It sees beyond the physical and scientific things.
  3. Faithiscope sees the invisible
  4. Faithiscope sees what others may not be able to see.
  • Moses saw what the others could not see when they were at the Red Sea.
  • Israelites moving forward when the Red Sea had not being parted into two.
  • Joshua and Caleb saw what other spies could not see.
  1. Faithiscope makes you to take steps that can be called strange.
  • Peter obeying Jesus to throw the net at a time that you are not likely to get fish.
  • The disciples agreed to feed the thousands with the lunch of a boy.
  • The lepers going to the High Priest even when they had not seen their healing.
  1. Faithiscope makes you to determine to do what others called suicidal or foolishness.
  • Jonathan and his armor bearer going to challenge the Philistines
  • David fighting Goliath without weapon of war, without armour or experience.
  1. Faithiscope makes you to suffer now and enjoy latter.
  • Joseph could have slept with madam Potiphar and end years of slavery but suffered and later became the governor of Egypt.
  • David could have killed Saul on several occasions but he waited for God and it paid off for him.
  • John suffered untold hardship for his faith to the point that he was banished to the Island of Patmos where God gave him the book of Revelation.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight 🙂

  1. Faith is still the answer to every questions of your heart.
  2. Faith is still the answer to the turbulent things that are bombarding us day in day out.
  3. Faith makes you to see God
  4. Faith makes you to see that sin is a hindrance to your seeing God and had been paid for on the cross of Calvary.
  5. Faith makes you to see that the simple way of coming to God is to confess your sins and accept forgiveness in the name of Jesus.
  6. Faith makes you to see that givers never lack, that the more you give, the more you receive.
  7. Faith makes you to see that a fruitful life is the only life that is spent for God and for the benefits of others.
  8. Faith makes you to see that to really enjoy life, you must lose it in Christ.
